Minnesota Places to Visit in a Rv

Minnesota is a place that is loaded with beautiful and memorable sights to see in your RV. In the State of 10,000 Lakes, there are outposts and tourist traps galore, perfect whether you are going out on a day trip or if you're planning an extended adventure.

For wilderness buffs, there is perhaps no place better suited for a vacation than Minnesota, and there is perhaps no better means of travel than an RV if you want to take in as much as possible. There is so much to do and see in the state, in fact, that it would be wise of you to chart your path beforehand and be sure that you don't miss out on any of the must-dos within Minnesota's enormous boundaries.

Minnesota spring travel is known for its beauty, making spring RV rentals something of a big deal in the state. In order to plan spring time roadtrips effectively, you need to familiarize yourself with the local landscape and figure out what it is that interests you most. Be aware: this list is not necessarily ordered based on proximity, so you want to map everything out for yourself once you know which places you want to visit.

Twin Cities

You'll want to either start or end in the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, which are renowned for art and recreation. Here you will find an abundance of things to do and history to experience, all based around the idyllic chain of lakes. Stop in at the state capitol in Saint Paul while you're at it and see how Minnesota is run! The two biggest cities in Minnesota, Minneapolis and St. Paul are bustling, modern locations that attract visitors from all around the world. Museums include the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Walker Art Center, the Museum of Russian Art, and the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, and the Minnesota Orchestra and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra both perform here as well. There are also countless festivals to enjoy throughout the year.

Duluth

Duluth is the home to two nationally-recognized sites, the Aerial Lift Bridge and the Lakewalk Trail, but there is much, much more than just those things. This is a place that is both a part of civilization and separated from it. The largest American city built along Lake Superior, it is home to the only all-freshwater aquarium in the United States, the Great Lakes Aquarium, and the world's longest freshwater baymouth bar, Minnesota Point. It is also an excellent starting point to get your RV trip started and head out along the North Shore.

Itasca State Park

Recognized for its sweeping area, Itasca State Park features more camping and hiking opportunities than most other combinations of two or even three parks combined. This is a place that nature lovers will adore, and it is perfectly accessible via RV, making it a great anchor destination during your next roadtrip.

Two Harbors

Lighthouses, museums, lakes, parks, and plenty of outdoor recreation: this is what you can expect to stumble upon in Two Harbors. Whatever your pleasure is, you will never run out of things to do as you reconnect with the great outdoors and leave all your worries behind you. When people think of Minnesota, Two Harbors is likely where their minds go. This picture-perfect locale seems to have a new outdoorsy surprise every time you visit it.

Ely

Among nature lovers and sightseers, gray wolves are held in particularly high esteem. In Ely, you can find pack after pack of the creatures, healthy hunters who are a source of endless fascination to those who take the time to observe them. You can also find plenty of fishing, camping, and old mining spots in Ely.

Lutsen

In autumn, people drive in from all across the continent in order to see the stunning leaf colors that Minnesota has to offer. As the trees shed their old leaves, they put on a show unlike any other, and if you want to see the change in all its glory, you would do well to spend some time in Lutsen. A skiing town in the winter, Lutsen is also home to ample lakes and golf courses, making it a destination of choice among people who know where to take their RV around the state.

Red Wing

World-famous for Red Wing Shoes, Riedell Ice and Roller Skates, and Red Wing Stoneware, Red Wing is also home to some of the most lush spots in all of Minnesota. The Canyon Valley Trail spreads out into Red Wing in the western part of the city, while Prairie Island Indian Reservation contains the Treasure Island Resort & Casino. Since 2008, Red Wing has been a part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Fun and nature are aplenty in Red Wing.

Minnesota spring travel is a special experience, and with spring RV rentals in such abundance, there is no better time to plan a spring time roadtrip than right now. Both permanent residents of Minnesota and people who have taken a weekend excursion to the state will tell you the same thing: the outdoors and the culture here need to be seen in order to be believed. Life seems vibrant here on another level, imbuing into anyone who enters its borders a sense of rejuvenation. All the power and luster that are endemic to Minnesota can be yours – just hop into an RV and start driving!

As you get into your RV and pick out your first destination in Minnesota, keep in mind just how much there is to see and do here. It would be difficult to go through the entire list in one go, so plan on coming back at least a couple times – maybe even annually if you're lucky! The more you can come to Minnesota, the happier you will be. If there were some simple way to make your life better, wouldn't you do it? Of course you would. So what are you waiting for?
